S&DJR Wagon Project

A new rolling stock project.  Somerset & Dorset Railway 5 plank 8 ton 1911 Peat Wagon kit from Furness Railway Wagon Co.  Priced at £50 not including wheels it's a bit expensive compared to Slaters / Parkside.  It's the first resin model I've built,  and overall I'm quite impressed.  The wood grain on the 1 piece body does look good.  The solebar was lacking some details which had to be fabricated from sheet brass & card.  I did the best I could & should look okay after painting.  A few parts not included in the kit were salvaged from the parts bin including brake hangers, which considering the price was a bit disappointing.  With basic construction completed, it's off to the paint shop.
